Movie Actors – Start Small, Think Big
When you think about your favourite movies the only people you really seem to remember are the main movie
actors, those actors that the whole movie is centered around. Of course no movie could be successful if the plot
was so loose that it revolved around every member or the supporting cast and there were no clear cut frontline
actors around which the story was based. Every movie has to have its hero or villain otherwise you might end up
with 2 hours of story that just seems to wander all over the place with no clear cut goal.
Beyond the Stars
Each movie must not only have its share of stars playing the part of the main
character but it must have a complementary cast of supporting movie actors. It takes actors like Siobhan Finneran and Alfie Owen who costarred in the movie Boy A. These actors are the ones
the help put the pieces of the story together. Without small part actors like Victoria Brazier and Sky Bennett
it would be impossible to tell the whole story, after all real life is not made up of only one or two people so
why should a movie be any different.
The role of any movie is to entertain us and tell us the story as written by the screenwriter no matter how real
or unreal the plot may seem. While the story may be based around one or two main characters, how could you have
them go to a bar and get involved in a bar fight without plenty of character actors like Josef Altin and Dudley
Lewis. These are the movie actors that help bring the story to life.
Filling In the Missing Pieces
It is the job of all movie actors to help tell the tale and keep it moving whether you are the taxi driver that
only appears once or the star of the show, each of the actors must carry out his or her part to the best of their
ability in order for the story to be believable. These actors play every role from the barmaid to the guy who is
selling newspapers on the corner of the street.
When a director is assembling the cast for his next movie he realizes that in order for any scene that occurs in
a public place to look realistic there has to be people in the scene just as there would be in real life. It takes
movie actors like Madeleine Rakic-Platt, Leigh Symonds and Maria Gough to bring that touch of realism to the movie
that makes the story believable to the audience so that they can sit back and enjoy the show.
One More Benefit of Bit Parts
For many young and aspiring actors like Taylor Doherty, Jeremy Swift ad Carlene Hansom a small part in a major
movie gives them a chance to hone their skills as actors and to get their foot in the door. Many famous movie
actors got their start by playing dozens of small parts in the movies until a director or producer happened to
notice them and recommend them for a bigger part. Starting out small can lead to a much bigger and brighter future
if these aspiring actors continue to work hard and hone their craft.
